TATE LIVERPOOL
CHARLINE VON HEYL
22
nd
of April I went to the tate Liverpool to see the Charline Von Heyl exhibition. At first I didn’t think I would understand and be unimpressed with these paintings but as I walked into the exhibition I was found to be wrong. I actually really enjoyed this exhibition. She has put together a collection of abstract paintings. Taking a quality and painting it in its basic form so that the image becomes unreacogniseable. I love these pices for the sizes that they are and think they would look great as an interior focal point in a room. From this exhibition I have gained an interest and an understanding in how important colour is. What goes together and what contrasts. This is somehtin that in my own work I can think about. She also uses great lines and outlines in her pieces which brings more importance to the artwork. Something that myself haven’t explored in my work yet. I have only been exploreing colour and how to fix ink to cling film.
